New smoke and beer experience in the Lake District

A tour around both Liverpool and Manchester preceded a March trip by top Japanese tour operators to the Lake District, where they visited both Levens Hall and Blackwell Arts & Crafts House, as well as experiencing a Mountain Goat tour the next day. The party of fourteen, led by Ashley Harvey from VisitBritain Tokyo, listened to a talk on the brewing process at The Wild Boar whilst enjoying a beer bat of three of the real ales produced at the Lake District Inn. Afterwards, they were joined by several members of the English Lake District Japan Forum for the dinner which included some of the very best local produce from the Grill and Smokehouse menu.

The Chairman of the Japan Forum and Group Marketing Manager at English Lakes Hotels commented on the event: 'It was the ideal evening to showcase the flavours and creative dishes from our Smokehouse and to welcome some of the people who help make the Lake District such a popular destination for Japanese tourists coming to the UK.'

The evening was a great success and the delegates really enjoyed the evening's talk on the Brewhouse by The Wild Boar Manager Andy Lemm, which was interpreted by Kirstie Sobue.
