Peter Rabbit hits the heights in Tokyo!

Peter Rabbit has been a firm favourite in Japanese culture for a very long time. For the last 25 years he has also been the mascot of Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking. Now, a series of 25 Peter Rabbit gardens have been established in its Tokyo branches to celebrate this important anniversary and in addition, a 10m-high mural has been produced, depicting Peter Rabbit along with other characters from the Beatrix Potter stories. Andy Poole, Chief Executive of the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, recently spent time in Japan as part of a delegation promoting visits to the English Lake District and he looks forward to welcoming more Japanese travellers to Bowness-on-Windermere in future years. He is pictured here beside the Peter Rabbit mural.
